How to apply for teachers' courses

Who are the courses for?

Staff of adult education organisations or teachers in primary (for Storytelling only) or secondary education, working in a member or candidate country of the European Union.   All courses have been approved by the UK National Lifelong Learning Agency. They are listed on the EU’s on-line training database, so that you can apply for a contribution from the European Lifelong Learning programme to attend.   Staff from non-EU countries are welcome to apply on a self-funded basis. Are you are a primary or secondary school teacher? You can apply for a contribution to funding through the EU Lifelong Learning programme 'Comenius'. 

Do you work for an adult education organisation? You can apply fora contribution to funding from the EU Lifelong Learning programme 'Grundtvig'.

How do you apply for EU funding for your course?

-Check availability with ectarc and complete our pre-registration form (downloads below).          

-ectarc will send you a confirmation letter, to show you have been provisionally accepted on the course.

-Contact your own Lifelong Learning National Agency for a Comenius/Grundtvig application form.

-Apply to your National Agency for a grant contribution, by sending the ectarc confirmation letter with your completed Comenius/Grundtvig application form.

-Your National Agency will later contact you to let you know if you have been awarded a training grant.  Your place will be reserved until 4 weeks before the start of the course. You MUST advise ectarc immediately your application for funding has been approved or not approved. The course fee should be paid to ectarc by bank transfer 4 weeks before the course start date.

Deadlines to apply to your national agency:

For all courses between 1January and 31 April 2011, the deadline has now passed.
For courses between 1May and 31 August, the deadline for applications is 15 January 2011
For courses between 1September and 31 December 2011, the deadline is  15 September
